 Registration Details for 2009 Marathon

The one-hundred year anniversary of man first reaching the North Pole will occur in 2009. You can run a marathon at the North Pole during this special Centenary.

The 2009 North Pole Marathon trip is provisionally scheduled for 6th - 10th April, with the marathon due to take place on 8th April 2009. Available places will be allotted on a first come first served basis. 

For the entry fee of €11,900, Polar Running Adventures will provide athletes with accommodation in Spitsbergen on April 6th; return flights from Spitsbergen to the North Pole camp; accommodation while at the Pole from April 7th to 9th; entry to the official North Pole Marathon; helicopter flights in the polar region; , t-shirts, medals and souvenirs; professional photos of each competitor in action; a DVD of the race; and hotel accommodation on April 9th on return from the Pole.   

Registration Procedure

Registration is a simple two-step process. You must (1) Complete the Application Form below and agree to the Terms & Conditions (the application form will link to a terms & conditions form) and (2) Pay the full entry fee or deposit.

Please print each of the forms when completed and retain for your records. Once the full entry fee or deposit has been received, your place will be confirmed in the field.

Payment Options

The preferred method is by bank wire transfer: contact Richard Donovan at rd@npmarathon.com for the relevant bank details. You may also pay via euro cheque or draft, making it payable to "Polar Running Adventures" and mailing it to Richard Donovan at the postal address below.

Payment Schedule

Full payment of EUR €11,900 to firmly secure a place will be accepted on initial registration. Alternatively, a EUR €4,000 deposit to reserve a place will be accepted. This deposit should be followed by a second payment of EUR €4,000 by September 1st 2008, with the remaining payment of EUR €3,900 due by December 31st 2008.
